A New Beginning - 2013

 
I wrote this short article over 10 years ago and every year I try to embrace the concept of a new beginning.

The Book of Opportunity; Every person can begin again. Start with anticipation. Open the book. The pages are blank. Write your own story. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter begins now.

Albert Einstein was ahead of his time; he described insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Commit to not doing the same thing over again and expecting different results.

What can we do to expect different results? The obvious answer is to do things differently! Doing things differently can be of a varying scope in both our personal and professional lives; from continuous improvement, which involves small ongoing changes, to a radical and significant lifestyle change.

• How does change come about? Identifying the change process follows five steps:
• Recognition of a trigger indicating that change is needed
• Clarification of the end point, "Where you want to be"
• Planning how to achieve the change
• Accomplishment of the transition

And finally maintenance to ensure the change is lasting or until you decide to write a new Book of Opportunity
