Spring Clean your Windows!

Spring Clean Your Windows

When cleaning your glass, spray a light layer of glass cleaner on the outer panes of glass and wad up some old newspaper to work the mixture from side to side.   Avoid using rags or paper towels to clean your windows, these will leave streaks. Replace the newspaper often to avoid letting the paper get too wet with glass cleaner, thus streaking the surface.   To give an extra shine to window glass, polish it with a well-washed cotton T-shirt, old cloth diapers or rub a clean blackboard eraser over a freshly washed and dried window to give it a diamond-bright shine.  Do not use any abrasive cleaner as they could scratch your windows or do not wash the windows with a high pressure spray, the extreme pressure could crack or destroy the caulking around the window. For difficult to remove dirt and stains, see our website for a complete list of solutions at www.andersonglass.com.

Tips for GREEN Cleaning

Clean your TMG home the "GREEN" way!

Natural cleaners and green cleaning products are a smart way to clean your house the safe, non-toxic way. Take a look at these tips for green cleaning in your home with store-bought cleaning solutions, or try homemade cleaners for your kitchen, bathroom, toilet and windows.

Start With Green Cleaning Basics

Just about every natural cleaning product uses the same cleaners your grandma used. These ingredients aren't all completely safe -- keep them away from kids and pets -- but they're less toxic than many commercial cleaners, and a lot less costly. A good natural cleaning kit includes the following items:

Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) -- gritty scrubber, also reacts with acids like lemon and vinegar
Borax -- disinfects, whitens and deodorizes
White vinegar -- disinfects and loosens dirt
Lemon juice -- disinfects, cuts through grease
Olive oil -- picks up dirt, polishes wood
Castile soap -- all-purpose foaming cleaner
Washing soda (sodium carbonate) -- a caustic cleaner, stain remover and laundry supplement
